Family Owned for Five Generations
We believe banking should feel personal. You should know who you're talking to, and they should know you. Where you're not just an account number. Whether you're buying your first home, growing a business, or planning for retirement, we're here to help you make good decisions and build something that lasts.
We offer everything you'd expect from a modern bank but deliver it with old-school care. Because progress matters, but so do people.
If you're looking for a bank that cares where you're going and remembers where you've been—come see us. At BANK 21, you're not just a customer. You're a part of something we've been building for a long time.
How We Got Here
BANK 21 started back in 1903 in Bogard, Missouri, as The Farmers Bank of Bogard. In 1913, Thomas Knott led a group that bought the bank. We've been family-owned ever since, now five generations strong.
In 1982, we moved our charter to Carrollton and took over the historic Banking House of Wilcoxson & Company, a building with tall arched windows and timeless craftsmanship. Bob and Dee Knott successfully applied to have it placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The landmark building proudly anchors the south side of Carrollton's town square, serving as both a piece of history and a place where neighbors still gather to do business face-to-face.
We expanded in the '90s with locations in Marshall and Sedalia and added our Blue Springs location in 2006. In 1996, we changed our name to BANK 21, a nod to the century ahead and our promise to keep evolving without losing what made us special in the first place.
